The operation shield will be implemented in 21 localities identified as containment in New Delhi. The government request to all living in affected areas to cooperate with the Delhi government’s operation SHIELD. No doubt, it is strict action, but it is essential to protect our nation from COVID-19.
The strategy includes:-

- Home quarantine of all people living in the area
- Isolation and tracing of people who have been second contacts
- Essential supply of commodities is ensured
- Local sanitation of the area
- Door-to-door health check-up of people living in the area
Operation shield has been successful in containing the spread of COVID-19 in the Dilshad Garden area. The health minister of Delhi said that the hard work of the health officials and the successful implementation of “operation shield” had been made Dilshad Garden a coronavirus free area.
According to the statement, “there are no new cases reported from Dilshad garden in the last 10 days.” On Friday, the Delhi government claimed that ‘operation shield’ aimed at countering the community spread of the novel coronavirus. Under the operation, the Delhi government made 123 medical teams to tackle the situation of the area.
Each team surveyed about 50 homes and asked a set of questions. Any person who has met the family was quarantined or shifted to the hospital for medical treatment or testing. They screened nearly 4032 houses and 15000 people. Apart from this, an action plan was prepared with the help of the district magistrate of Shahadra. The Delhi government took help from the police and the MCD. The entire area was sealed with the Old Seemapuri after a Mohalla clinic doctor tested positive.
By working around the 15 days, the operation shield was successful in Dilshad Garden. There is not even a single positive case from the last 10 days. So, it should be implemented at whole Delhi to restrain the spread of coronavirus.
