The most budgeted airline SpiceJet has now offered business class. The class is currently available on selected routes starting from 11th May 2019. SpiceJet has now stood at the second place after GoAir, who is offering budget tickets. GoAir introduced the business class in October 2008, and it stands at the first place in the list of domestic flights offering budget tickets.
SpiceJet has introduced the business class in their Boeing 737s, and it will run from the destinations like Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Bagdogra, Varanasi, and Srinagar. SpiceJet has started this plan after taking some of the B737s from Jet Airways on lease and later entered with Emirates into a code- share pact. Emirates is a Gulf carrier and a full-service operator.
Currently, SpiceJet has nine B737s on a lease, and as per an official executive, there are few more that will be added soon in the list. With the introduction of business class, SpiceJet is also providing complimentary access to the lounge, the baggage allowance will be higher than before, meals, beverages, etc. Passengers can also avail priority services as per a release. The lounge access can be availed at New Delhi, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Jaipur, Varanasi, Kochi, and Guwahati. There are plans to provide the lounge services at some other airports too.
The passengers traveling in business class can get 30 kg of baggage as free instead of a 10 kg baggage offered in the cabin as per the SpiceJet airlines statement. The Chairman of SpiceJet, Ajay Singh said that the demand for the business class is on a high scale and as per him that the new SpiceBiz business class has the right price and hence the demand will also be high.
