Aadhaar card that is issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has acquired a very significant place in the list of documents used for identity. It contains all your details, including your biometric data too. UIDAI has the main aim of providing UID (Unique Identification Number), and that is referred to as “Aadhaar.”
How to update photo in your Aadhaar Card?
To update photo in your Aadhaar Card, there are a certain set of steps to be followed offline. Note: There is no option that is available currently to do it online.
- Firstly, visit the Aadhaar Enrolment Centre and download the enrolment. For downloading the enrolment you have to browse the official UIDAI website.
- Secondly, the form has to be submitted after filling it carefully and later as per the instructions provide the biometric information to the executive. A photograph is also required to be uploaded, and hence the executive will click a photo of yours too.
- Thirdly, pay the fees for the update of photo in your Aadhaar Card. The fees is Rs. 25 excluding the GST.
- Lastly, the executive will provide you an acknowledgment receipt, and that will contain a URN. This URN can be used to check the status update of your Aadhaar Card.

There might be a case in which you are unable to make the submission of the form in person. In that case, you can update your photo by writing an application to the UIDAI regional office. Just download the correction form from the official UIDAI website and carefully fill all the required details.
